May 16th, 2012Still alot of perch and striped bassĀ about in the Mullica River, perch biting on bloodworms, grasshrimp and minnow. The striped bass are taking bloodworms, clam and atlantic herring. The back bays are heating up. The flounder are starting to be caught in numbers. Squid, spearing, minnow, mackeral and the berkley gulp shrimp. Alot of reports along the shore. May 14th, 2012Stricter eel rules possible–In Sundays region of the press newspaper may 13th an article by Richard Degener- a report by the Alantic States Marine Commision says that the eel stocks are depleted based on historic levels,nothing specific is proposed yet,but could this lead to a ban in useing eels for bait??.If you get time please check this article out.
